My knee problem

Knee Joint Problem:Joints occur when bones meet.They allow flexibility in movement There is cortilage a spongy material to absorb shocks ,synovial fluid to lubricate and reduce friction and fibrous ligaments to to give the joint strength and support.
I caused damage to my right knee joint by playing TT Tennis and Cricket .My powerful forehand shots in racket games and off side shots in cricket have all put a lot of strain on my rightknee and damaged it. Now I have been putting all my load on my left knee and therefore causedsome damage to it also .

Symptoms :
1.Pain that increases with activity and relieved by rest
2.Occassional swelling aroundthe joint
3.Stiffness lasting foe a short time. after a period of rest
4.Cracking noise on moving the joint a few times in a day

What can be done
1.We can use pain killers .Usually Non Steroid Anti Inflamatory Drugs ( NSAID)
2. Local Acting Corticosteroids
3..Physiotherapy or Yoga
4 Injections to regenerate cortilage through the injections using stem cell material.
5 Kneejoint replacement through Surgery
1& 2 work only for some time with gradually increasing dosages. They damage organs like liver and Kidney
4.It is still at an experimental stage . Not proved sufficiently
5. It has worked at least for a sizable percentage of people who have gone for it. A lot of post operation care is necessary lasting for a few months in the least.
6. I have gone for yoga and exercises suggested bymy doctor . It worked well I do not feel pain much .On days when I have over exerted myself I take a NSAID . May be once in a week No swelling usually .The cracking noise is also reduced . I apply lubricating oils like glycerine ,Dhanvanthari Tailam and camphor in gingeli oil., on the skin

Diet
I foloe the following rules
1 Avoid fatty foods
2 Use milk and vegetables
3. Take calcium tablets on alternate days
4 Avoid citrus fruits (These are said to be good for diabetes) Tomato salt are to be avoided
5 Now I know that I have to avoid alcohol not because I am diabetic but becuse of other reasons !
6 Corionder and ginger are sopposed to be good .I find they are advised against for some other disorder of mine
