Our 3 days at Thiruchi (TRICHY)

Myself and my wife reached thiruchi by bus on 30th morning. Journey was comfortableNIT sent us a car which took us to their guest house

In the evening we went to see Jambu lingeswara close to Sri rangam. My ife Vijaya read about it in Adivaram Andhra Jyothi recently. The temple was very serene. It took us one and half hours to see this temple. The darsanam ticket was 10rs.
Then we went to Ranganathaswamy temple. There were toomany peolpe even for 250 rs Darsanam ticket , in the que . It required 2 hours to enter
We returned to the guest house without venturing to join the que. This temple is more popular with Andhras I was told
Next day was our Ugadi. We went for a walk at 6 am THe roads inside the campus were . The trees were with flowers. We could see vasantham all over the campus. We plucked Vepa putha ( Neem tender flowers) and ate it directly. It tastedvery good. THe fruit market just opened around 7 am. We bought afresh mango we gathered a fresh tamaring fruit 9Chintha pandu thutte) and ate them seperately
So we had all the ingradients of ugadipachchadi but not in the usual pachchadi form
My friend DR. Ayyagari kalyanram brought frm his house the traditional pachchadi for us.
We ate that . He tookus to the function organised by the students.
The hall was big It could hold a2 thousand people easily . there were about 500 students. WE were pleasantly surprised to see many boys in dhothis and girls in sarees. We wre told that 100 days togo before the final exam of the final year, the NIT conducts every year a countdown function at which by tradition all the boys attend in dhothis and girls in sarees. It was very nic . A student conducted the Puja The Director and his wife performed Puja. Iwas asked to bless the students as the oldest teacher present ,which I gladly did. I received a memento of Vinayaka
The porasadams were very tasty. We had lunch with Ayyagaari family
Evening WE went to attend ugadi celebrations of BHEL thelugu Samithi.THerte Smt Ayyagari PriyaDarshani and her daughter sang melodiously "Maa Thelugu Thalliki". I gave atalk on Maya Bazar. I was happy to meet an officebearer with the same name as my second daughter, Naga Padma
I was honoured with ashawl and memento.The gave an excellent dinner. Kumari Dokka lavanya gave anexcellent classical danceprogramme. I also met another Dokka Gentleman there Bothh were related to The Great Dokka Sithamma Lavanya is a first year B.Tech student at NIT
ON the final day i gave atalk on Seriouness in Engineering Education and NBA at NIt which Sri Ramakalyan organise under Tecquip at NIT
SMt Dr CN Mani The dean at NIt and Smt Aruna Wife of Prof Sarathchandra Babu accompanied us to Railway station and put us in the train to Bengaluru
We returned with memories that we would cherish for a long time

  2. బావుంది మీ తిరుచ్చి యాత్ర, మా చిన్నప్పుడు వాణిలో ఆలిండియా రేడియోవారి మద్రాస్-ఏ,బి, విజయవాడ, హైదరాబాదు, తిరుచ్చి, మైసూరుల కార్యక్రమాలు ఉండేవి. ఎవరినైనా తింగరబుచ్చి అని పిలవాలంటే ముద్దుగా తిరుచ్చి అనేవారము.
