Founder fathers ofBengaluru

with one comment

Today I read an article on founder fathers of Bengaluru by Sri S Narayana Swamy in Deccan Herald ( Spectrum)
7 Bandi Kaapulu came from Kanchi area lead by Rana Baire Gauda Theysettled at Avathi near Devanahalli( Bangalore International airport) They are Telugu kaapulu. They are called morasu vokkulu (
They built Devanahalli, dodda ballapur chikkaballapur now known as Vokkaligas)
It was the seventh gauda who settled at yelahanka .His name was jaya Gada.Kempa Nanja Gauda was his grandson who was named after the wife of the god Bare Deva, Kempamma. Kempa gauda ruled for 70 years. He was given permuission by Achyutha Rayalu of Vijayanagarm empire to build a fort at hale (old) Bengaluru He was also granted land of the surrounding areas. On4e of the given villages was Kodige( Given) Halli. THe fort was a mud fort and built near Kodigehalli I now live in Tata Nagar a small part of Kodige halli . So the founder father of Bengaluru was Kempa gauda a telugu Kaapu
