The state and its planners represent beneficiaries of development projects and the affected people lose everything in the bargain including the land, life style, and livelihood and the rehabilitation measures are usually an eye-wash, because they are implemented by officials who are generally indifferent and corrupt. This is brought out well. The second part with aliens challenging the residents of earth is somewhat weak science fiction. The robots, computer knowledge, and space travel capability of aliens sound very Western and I feel that the use of the term Brahmaloka is not very apt. In our reckoning the Brahmarshis who inhabit the loka have only anugraha for humans and inimical aliens is a Western imagination.
The story is very readable, enjoyable and conveys the message of divine retribution in an interesting way.

I correct myself. Among residents of Urdhvalokas, Yakshas cause occasional troubles to humans. They live in worlds close to the bhuloka like pitru-loka and gandharva-loka and ruled by Kubera
